Create land scape variation not found however to the left of my screen there is an option “create landscape qualifier” which does the same thing (after clicking the drop down for activity xml)

That’s correct George.
Android Studio Chipmunk moved that from the “Orientation for Preview” menu.

I’ve added a note to the “Resources and Updates” tab to show this change.
