Xcode slow storyboard performance

Hi guys!

I am still very new to iOS development. Currently trying to learn core data. A quick thank you to all the high quality tutorials on this website. I have learn a lot from you all!

Every time when I am switching from code page to storyboard, it freezes for a few seconds before it loads. However in all the video tutorials, you guys don’t seem to have this problem.

I am currently using a 15" mac pro mid 2014 version. graphic card is Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. I was simply doing all the basic tutorials, and I thought it should be powerful enough to run everything smoothly.

Just wondering is there any trick to make running storyboard faster?

I am having the same issue!

and interface builder is going to freeze
in Xcode 9.0.1

Listening to numerous iOS development podcast, this is a common issue. If you close Xcode and reopen it, the issue should temporarily go away. If you check the CPU usage on your Mac, it is likely at 100% or higher. One dev on a podcast said theirs was showing 400% CPU usage. Xcode 9.0.1 is supposedly better than 9.0.0, but I would imagine future releases will be better.
