You have a wrong picture in book “Mastering Git”. https://www.raywenderlich.com/books/mastering-git/v1.0/chapters/10-merging#toc-chapter-014-anchor-001 My git log looks different. And your description to the picture is more appropriate to my “git log” than yours.
