For some time zooming for storyboards for XOS projects seems to have disappeared. There doesn’t appear to be any answer on the Apple Developer Forums that I can see. Does anyone have any insight into what is happening here. Not being able to zoom storyboards for XOS projects makes it quite difficult to use Storyboards.
Unfortunately, you’re correct. Storyboard zoom functionality for macOS projects is not available in Xcode 8 and later versions. This appears to be a deliberate design choice by Apple, and there haven’t been any official announcements regarding its return.
Here are some resources that confirm this:
Apple Developer Forums: Multiple threads discuss the missing zoom feature and confirm it’s not supported for macOS storyboards:
Xcode 8 Release Notes: While mentioning smooth zooming across iOS, tvOS, and watchOS, there’s no mention of macOS:
While inconvenient, there are a few workarounds you can try:
Increase the Screen Resolution: This might provide a temporary solution by offering more screen space to view the storyboard.
Use a Larger Display: If possible, connecting to a larger external display can offer more space to work with.
Organize Your Storyboard: Keeping the healthinsurancemarket storyboard well-organized with proper layout and spacing can improve its usability without zooming.
Consider Alternative Tools: For complex macOS storyboards, you might want to explore other UI design tools that offer zooming capabilities.
It’s important to note that this limitation only affects macOS storyboards. Zooming functionality remains available for iOS, tvOS, and watchOS storyboards in Xcode 8 and later.
