So, I have found best way to learn coding and it is implement whatever you have just learnt always immediately! So, know something new and then immediately implement the same! Do Experiments! Share! Explore! Repeat!
For learning techniques, there are so many and in technical terms those are like elaborative interrogation, self-explanation, Summarization, highlighting, keyword mnemonic, imagery use for text learning, Re-reading, practice testing, distributed practice, interleaved practice and what not… But i think what matters most is something different like: Interest and Passion!

Yeah I agree that interest and passion are great motivators.
Practice right after learning is another excellent way to “persist” what learned. And I would do it, if I had the time :]
