Let’s kick things off!
I wanted to do a quick intro of myself, but there was no existing topic so hope it’s ok if I create one!
Name/Nickname: Tracey
Quick Background:
Previously worked as iOS Engineer on drag-and-drop coding app Hopscotch, and also as Marketing Coordinator at Danish indie studio Throughline Games.
Last year I was at Indie Media Connect during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, promoting the gorgeous award-winning indie titles by Throughline Games — Forgotton Anne and Forgotlings, both of which feature stunning hand-drawn animations that are reminiscent of Studio Ghibli!
I’ve studied computational linguistics at the National Computer Science School by the University of Sydney and also studied game design at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment in Melbourne. I first learnt Swift way back from another online course: Code with Chris.
Hopscotch was where I first learnt to code, making my own projects and games — including recreating 2048!

Developing a beautiful & highly-aesthetic note-taking app: Noteworthy ![]()
It features gorgeous templates & notepaper designs inspired by real life stationery sets, as well as delightful novel interactions in your own 3D office space!
It’s combining all my experience from across the tech and games industries, so I’m very excited about it. Will share progress here and on Discord as I keep working on it.
Courses & books you’re learning with on Kodeco:
Currently learning how to make my own 3D engine on Metal with Kodeco
I’m learning with Metal by Tutorials and I also have the book Design Patterns (gifted to me while I was working at Hopscotch!) I’m looking into the other Swift courses on Kodeco as well, to keep myself updated.
I’m so glad that I found Metal by Tutorials and am very grateful to Kodeco and the authors — it’s going to be an absolute game-changer for me! I love to develop in Swift for iOS and have worked in other game engines before, but now this will let me do it all on iOS/macOS ![]()
I first heard about Kodeco from one of the iOS senior engineers while at Hopscotch, Andrew Tetlaw, who has written tutorials for Kodeco/Ray Wenderlich before!
Fun facts about you:
I’m currently obsessed with color-coordinating everything, from my planners & journals to my bookshelf and outfits!
