The let function is actually never explained or addressed in the rest of the book. Seems like an oversight, hope it gets some love in a future update.

This sentence is referring to the “syntax” being used in the let function, the lambda syntax which is described in Chapter 10 of the book. It’s not referring specifically to the let function. We’ll update this sentence to be more specific in the next edition. The let function itself could also use more examples right here in this chapter.
