Ch. 07 page 171 Exit App not working

Hi. On page 171 of chapter 7 in the discussion on Restoring Scene State With SceneStorage there is the following instruction:

Exit the app in Simulator by swiping up from the bottom.

That doesn’t seem to work. No amount of clicking and dragging results in swiping up - either using a Magic Mouse 2 or the touch pad on my MacBook Pro 15 inch 2017 running Ventura 13.6.9. I’ve read the simulator help on interacting with iOS to no avail. Any suggestions?

It has got trickier over the years.

Start in the black frame area at the bottom, and drag up quite slowly until you see the dock, and then keep dragging.

Or you could try Device Menu > Home (Cmd-Shift H).

Both of those options worked, as well as clicking the home button in the toolbar above the simulated iPad, which of course I thought of immediately after posting.
