./bootstrap files don't work

I run the bootstrap exercises through the terminal with the ./bootstrap command and they open, but the live update part doesn’t work - nothing shows. For most part that’s fine since I can just do the exercises in a normal project and build and run as usual. But in chapter 11 it’s required that the live view works, but nothing shows. This makes it impossible to follow along in the chapter. I also have an error that Rx.xcproj can’t open. So how do I fix this?

On the very first starter project I run it through the terminal using ./bootstrap.sh (page 42). The playground file opens in a regular Xcode project without the nifty playground stuff. Perhaps this is intended, dunno, and not sure about the point of opening it this way to be honest. Anyway, if I try to run the project (iPhone simulator) nothing happens.
