# Testing tvos app on Apple TV

I have been working on a TVOS app and need to test what I have on the actual device. In order to connect Apple TV to the Mac do I necessarily need the USB-c to USB-A cable? Is there any other way to connect the devices. Also, do I need to pay for Apple Developer or can I test TVOS the same way I test IOS apps on the actual iPhone?
